Welcome to another edition of Money While You Sleep. We spent most of March just getting back into routine after a couple rough months. Here are a few things we were up to:
- We went to a couple Oil Kings games with C’s hockey team
- Finally got to go to an Oilers game
- C participated in an evaluation for later this year when he start U9
- Maria went to Banff for her annual business trip
Portfolio details:
Not too much action this month other than the following:
- Added $1k into Maria’s TFSA
Cash position increased again however we plan to make a few adds in April.
Sold:
We sold our full position early in March in ABX.TO. Really the timing couldn’t have been worse as shortly after the bank concerns started to arise and Gold took off in a big way. That’s the way it goes sometimes! The company has just not performed well lately and decided to move on.

- POW increased dividend 6.1%
- MDT increased dividend 8%
- ENGH increased dividend 18.9%
2023 Dividends
Dividends came in at $639.94. This is a year over year increase of 30.16%. We also dripped 13 new shares. We have set out our annual goal of $6,000 for 2023. Playing this one more conservative with inflation on the rise, heavier cash position, potential smaller dividend increases across the board and taking longer than usual to fund TFSA accounts. We are 24% to our goal through the first quarter.
