Welcome to October’s edition of more free money from dividend investing.
Before I get into that here is a quick peak of what this month has been like.
Zoey had her 5th birthday and Halloween was a blast. Here are a couple pics of the two events. My wife and i make cute kids!

My why:
What can i say other than not pleased with the results a few days ago and they did not raise their dividend meaning they will fall off the DIVIDEND ALL STAR list. Also cable subscribers have been dropping and internet has been terribly slow by many users who are frustrated. The good news is i sold out at a profit and also collected the dividend.

I have opened a new position into Boardwalk REIT by purchasing 33 shares
Who is Boardwalk:
Boardwalk Real Estate Investment Trust is an open-ended real estate investment trust that owns Boardwalk Communities, Structures Metropolitaines, and Boardwalk Retirement Community.
My why:
Boardwalk has been hit hard this past few years, when things got tough they made a decision to renovate 1200 rental suites and over the next few months those will be available. They have also increased rents at many locations. As of Jan 1, 2018 banks will now be required to stress test those that can put 20% or more down on purchasing a home. I believe rental properties will be a good place to be over the next couple of years and Boardwalk seems to have done the necessary steps to ensure they get a piece of the pie. It also pays a nice dividend.

Since the beginning of the year when the portfolio was restructured the upward trend is starting to look great. We received $79.03 in October. All dividends received last year = $735.78 and already this year were at $871.12 received with 2 more months to go.
