Hello investors! Welcome to another edition of Money While You Sleep. Markets were pretty obvious in December as many investors took advantage of tax loss selling. Before I go into my investing update here is what we have been up to:

• Went with family for a nice year end vacation to Mexico
• My boy got to play at Rogers place for the first time. He won the opening faceoff and even scored a goal.
• Had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by family, food and gratefulness.
• Our daughter took it upon herself to make Christmas cards with one of her friends and then asked us to drop them off at the local seniors home so they could hand them out. Proud parents over here.

Portfolio details:

In December there wasn’t much change to the portfolio. We did take advantage of moving some US cash in the RRSP into HSUV-U.TO thanks to Dan Kent over at Stocktrades with his recent video that you can find here:

Cash position is slightly higher as a majority of the 7% is being held in USD

2016 – 2022 Dividends

Dividends came in at $655.91. This is a year over year increase of 25%. We also dripped 13 new shares. We had set out our annual goal of $5,000 for 2022 and thanks to some fantastic dividend increases, special payouts, TFSA, RRSP and RESP contribution we beat this target by coming in at $5,366.47. This is also a full year increase of 38%.
